Steff Dutton kept up his steady progress in Greetham Valley’s Winter Order of Merit on Saturday with victory in the latest round.
In very cold, windy conditions on the Lakes course, Steff showed his full recovber from last year’s shoulder surgery with a magnificent score of 40 points to take the 50 points on offer for the win.
Second place went to Peter Zimmer-Smith with a great score of 39 points, while Dave came in with 35 to take third place on countback from Carl Causbrook.
Martin Gore didn’t have his best day on Sunday but still leads the overall standings with 125 points from second-placed Steff Dutton (108) who is just five points ahead of Graham Smith.
After scoring 34 points in round five, Andy Webb moves up to fifth with 95, and Dave Copley was also a man on the move, taking over fourth place just three behind Graham.
Greetham Valley were handed a tough draw at Stoke Rochford on Saturday in the Mail on Sunday team knockout.
First team captain Chris Steele got well ahead in the front nine, but his opponent shot seven under for the back nine and Chris ghung on to win 1-up.
Adam Clegg managed a great 3 and 2 win in the second game, and Alan Bennett off won 1-up to give Greetham an unassailable 3-0 lead.
Darren Haughton won 3 and 2 to cement a fantastic win, and George Grant lost 1-down in the final game.
