Greetham Valley Men’s Winter Medal was played in wet and windy conditions with more than 90 entrants but this did not inhibit the scoring.
The overall winner, on countback, was eight-handicapper Pete Bagshaw who thought he had blown his chance when he took a double bogey on the 10th.
But a strong back nine, including two birdies and a host of pars, took him top of Division One.
Second place went to Simon Linnell (7), who made par on all but three holes to score a nett 68, while Carl Causbrook’s consistent round and score of nett 69 earned him third spot on countback. Trevor Smith (1) shot the best gross score of 72.
Graeme Hepburn took first place in Division Two with a fine round of 63.
Graeme, who plays off 23, had a consistent round of pars and bogeys on all holes except the challenging fifth hole which cost him a double bogey. Runner-up Luc Affleck pushed Simon Pearson into third on countback after both carded rounds of nett 64.
Nearest the pin prizes went to Mark Hibbitt, Terry Smith, Alan Bennett and Tom Haynes, while Nick Cunnington won the nearest the pin in two and Chris Horne won the longest drive.
