Bottesford Primary School win silver at county finals

Table tennis players from Bottesford Primary School claimed a fine silver medal position at the Leicester-shire and Rutland Sport School Games Super-Series Finals last Wednesday.

Having won the area title at John Ferneley College early last month, Bottesford’s Year 5 and 6 girls’ team represented Melton and Belvoir at the finals held at Knighton Park Table Tennis Club.

There they progressed to the overall final where they were defeated in a close match by St Peter’s CE Primary School, Market Bosworth (Hinckley and Bosworth).

The school’s boys’ team also qualified to represent the area and finished eighth overall following some hard-fought games.

Burbage Junior School, also representing Hinckley and Bosworth, won the boys’ competition.
