Jujitsu fighters impress with their qualities at grading event

Players with Melton Jujitsu attended the club’s autumn grading at Jubilee Sports at the weekend.

Grading officers Craig Connell (6th Dan), Sensei Sam Butterworth and Sensei David Eckersley, from Oldham, oversaw 25 students taking their next belt.

Club instructors Antony Howell and Steve Parkin have congratulated all who took part and they expressed pride in the standards shown and the progression made by all of their students.

Results from the Melton Jujitsu grading:

Juniors (age 7-14) - Sophie Pick & Lexi Murphy (Red), Rhys Nethercot, Thomas Vann & Stan Draper-Hill (Green), Charlie Pick (Blue), Charlotte Raisen & Jamie Southerington (Purple).

Seniors (age 15+) - Jens McCartney & Sam Naylor (Red), Matt Muffett (Yellow) Kieran Felstead (Green), Dave John, Adam John & Duncan Brown (Blue/White) Rory Billson & Jack Mower (Blue), Glen Kinghorn, Cameron Whiteman & Zoe Whiteman (Purple) Toby Lawrence & Sam Pugsley (Brown), Sam Butterworth & David Eckersley (3rd Dan).

Iaido (Japanese Sword) - Luke Goldstein & Max Calvert (Blue).
