Barkby took 20 points against Houghton and Thurnby on Saturday to keep them in touch with the promotion positions in Division One.
The home side won the toss and having chosen to bat first, Matt Boyce and Jack Berrisford got them off to a fine start with an opening partnership of 93 before Berrisford was bowled by Franklin for 34.
Tom Flowers joined Boyce and they took the score to 130 before Boyce was caught by Thakrar, off Franklin, for 57.
The Flowers brothers then put on 42 before Tom’s innings was ended when he was caught by Thakrar, off Ainsworth, for 44.
Townsend (2), Waplington (5), and Phillips (0) all fell victim to Franklin’s bowling in quick succession.
Drake (17) and Steve Flowers (61 not out) put on 38 for the seventh wicket to help Barkby close their innings on 256-8.
Houghton’s overseas player Pedi was bowled by Waplington for 0 in the second over of their reply, and Akhter and Patel took the score to 44 before James Kirk bowled the former for 29.
Just three runs later and Boyce caught Y. Thakrar off the bowling of Tom Flowers.
N. Thakrar and Patel added 46 for the fourth wicket before Townsend had Thakrar brilliantly caught by Jack Berrisford for 33.
Houghton lost two wickets with the score at 101, Drake dismissing both Gilford and Silver in one over.
Alimohamed and Patel put on a useful 87 for the seventh wicket before Waplington trapped Alimohamed lbw for 39.
Townsend also had Patel leg before for 79 in the last over, but Houghton hung on to achieve a draw.
