His fine unbeaten 51 helped the village side to post 143-9 from their 40 overs.

Knossington skipper elected to bat first but they got off to a shaky start, slumping to 20-4 by the 12th over, following Upton’s dismissal for 10.

Toby Earl and Doom Copley repaired some of the damage as they put on 54 before the latter fell for 36 valuable runs in the 23rd over.

Turner went for seven before Harris joined Earl (24) and they moved the score on to 74. Anything over 100 was going to be a reasonable total.

With help from Rodenby and Knight, Harris was able to guide his team to a good total.

The Teachers started positively Matt Goodwin (2/17 off 8) broke the opening stand of 46. He then bowl the No.3 for a duck two balls later.

Turner (2-31 off 8) claimed another two wickets and tight Knossington bowling ensured the Teachers finished 20 runs short of victory on 124-4.
