Melton Golf Club: Past and present captain's honoured
They were helped on their way by the men’s captain Jack Inguanta who served Pimms at the halfway house.
After the post-competition meal and presentation, Liz thanked everyone who had supported her and made the day enjoyable.

Overall winners were the team of Kathie Finn, Karen Middleton and Janet Bentley with 67 points, two ahead of Drina Terzza, Jackie Fisher and Pam Parker who took second place on countback from Julia Brown, Liz Clark and Bettyne Norton.
Other prizewinners – Putting: Gay Cham. Nearest-the-pin (5th hole) Leah Radford: (14th hole) Kathie Finn.
The nine-hole stableford was won by Pat Barnes with 13 points.
* The ladies’ friendly fixture against Scraptoft Golf Club resulted in a 3-1 win for Melton.

* Former lady captains played in an 18-hole and nine-hole competition for the Past Lady Captain’s Trophy on Friday.
They were joined by other past captains and lady presidents for tea, hosted by the present skip, Liz Snow and vice-captain Bettyne Norton.
Drina Terzza won the 18-hole trophy with 33 points, three clear of Maureen Stapleford, while the nine-hole trophy went to Sue Stimson with an impressive 20 points.

* Melton GC juniors hosted Park Hill in their first group match of the Leicestershire Junior League last week.
Melton fielded a few debutants and made a promising start with Jake Mogg playing well to secure a 5 and 3 win.
Josh Blunt won both the 17th and 18th holes in a close game to pinch a half, while James Daulby played a steady game to earn a comfortable 6 and 5 win.
Newcomers James Boles and Louis Woodcock both then added good wins to complete a four-and-a-half to one-and-a-half victory.

* Melton C team gave a spirited display in their match at Lutterworth GC.
Played in good conditions there were several close matches before the hosts came out on top four-and-a-half to one-and-a-half.
Kevin Robertson and Mark Lewis won 5 and 3 or Melton, while Ken Longbottom and Keith Tomblin halved.
