Asfordby Amateurs Ladies’, Girls’ and Inclusive FC hosted the Melton and Belvoir School Games football competitions at Asfordby Acres.

Both the Year 5 and 6 boys’ and girls’ groups were very competitive and played in a good spirit.

Waltham-on-the-Wolds Church of England Primary were deserved champions of the girls’ competition, while Great Dalby Primary School finished on top in the boys’ section.

Spirit of the Games prizes were awarded to Sherard boys and Brownlow girls for demonstrating respect and determination throughout the event.

Other schools to take part were The Grove, Bottesford and Redmile.

The competition was supported by Brooksby Melton College students who officiated and scored the games.

The Waltham girls will go on to represent the area in the next level of the Sainsbury’s School Games at Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College on Wednesday, June 24.
