Two goals were enough for Mowbray Rangers Under 15s to see off the challenge of Lutterworth on Sunday morning.
Mowbray played most of their relaxed passing football in Lutterworth’s half after Kyle Reek had given them the lead early in the first half when he converted from Clark’s beautifully-weighted pass into the box.
The Lutterworth goalkeeper made important saves to keep the score at 1-0, but late in the first half Hibbitt made an outstanding run, comfortably dribbling past three opponents before setting up Reek for his second of the game.
After the break, Rangers didn’t create much and focussed on keeping a clean sheet.
Lutterworth were unable to get through Mowbray’s midfield or rearguard and strong defensive performances from Postle, Plowman, Cragg and Belcher ensured a clean sheet.
The win lifted Rangers up to fourth place in Division A, just three points behind leaders Aylestone Park.
Rangers: Knipe, Plowman, Cragg, Postle, Belcher, Davies, Cook, Hibbitt, Patterson, Cresswell, Hirst, Reek, Clark.
