Mowbray Rangers Girls hit the road in search of three points after a two-week break, but were denied by a late Oadby fightback.

The visitors started brightly and looked the better side, with captain Ella and playmaker Erin dictating play in midfield and threading good balls through to striker Rhea Manning, while Alice and Evie worked the wings to good affect.

After 10 minutes Rangers were ahead when Manning found herself unmarked and lashed home.

At the back, the Mowbray defence was holding firm despite some good attacks by Oadby, and debutant Ellie Cook-Snow was looking assured at right-back.

The visitors doubled their lead after further pressure, with Manning taking on the last defender and scoring from close range to grab her second of the game

Rangers were looking comfortable, but just before half-time the home side grabbed a goal back, leaving the Rangers keeper with no chance.

The second half started with more pressure from the away side, but Oadby were finding their feet in the game and began to attack more and more as Mowbray found themselves under the cosh.

Against the run of play, Manning completed her hat-trick with a well-taken goal, as the visitors looked set for a win.

But Oadby kept attacking with purpose down the right wing and got through on two occasions in the last 10 minutes to level the game at 3-3.

The game finished with both teams taking a point and Rangers now sit fifth in the league, having won one, drew one and lost once.

Player-of-the-match was hat-trick hero Manning for her well-taken goals.

Mowbray Rangers girls are next in action against third-placed Coalville Ravenettes on Sunday, November 12.

Rangers: Leah S, Ella W (c), Charlotte M, Ellie CS, Evie M, Alice HOS, Lauren F, Lilly R, Molly B, Sophie T, Erin B, Rhea Manning.
