Melton Foxes suffer Charity Cup exit after penalties

Melton Charity Cup semi-final

Barrow won 4-2 on penalties

A tight entertaining game with chances at both ends saw the Foxes twice take the lead.

Unfortunately the holders suffered late heartbreak in the last minute of normal time when they failed to clear a corner and it was smashed home by Barrow to take the game to penalties.

The Town keeper then saved two of the Melton spot kicks to send them through to the final.

There they will meet Syston Town or Colsterworth Colts who were due to meet in the second semi-final last night (Wednesday).

The date of the final has been brought forward to Wednesday, May 6 (kick-off 7.30pm) at Holwell Sports FC.
