Exciting young Melton footballer Ollie Burke claimed his first senior goal for Nottingham Forest with a stylish finish against Cardiff City on Tuesday evening.
The 18-year-old put Forest ahead in the ninth minute, using the outside of his right foot to deftly guide a swerving shot into the net.
It was just a second Championship start for the Scotland Under 19 international and his powerful runs down the right flank caused problems throughout the match which ended 1-1.
Burke, who was named Melton Times Junior Sports Personality of the Year in June, posted his delight on Twitter.
“Words can’t describe! What dreams are made of! So happy to score my first senior goal thanks for all messages #nffc.”
