Exciting young footballer Ollie Burke set the latest benchmark in his rapidly rising career by scoring his first international goal on Tuesday.

Burke, the reigning Melton Times Junior Sports Personality of the Year, scored the equaliser for Scotland Under 19s in their 3-1 win over Mexico in Germany.

The 18-year-old winger was brought up in Melton, but qualifies to play for Scotland through his father.

Burke, who started his junior career with Mowbray Rangers, came through the junior ranks at Nottingham Forest and a year ago signed his first professional contract with the Reds.

He signed a new three-year contract with the club in July after a successful 2014/15 campaign and has made three appearances for the first team this season, two from the subs bench.

Scotland U19s play the next match in the invitational tournament against the United States tomorrow (Friday) before facing hosts Germany on Monday.
