Asfordby Lions Under 14s looked to keep their winning streak going in blustery conditions, but Santana had other ideas.

The visitors were soon ahead when Asfordby were caught out by quick play, but the home side slowly woke up with McCafferty threading the ball through for Hill to equalise.

Santana restored their lead and keeper Wade was then called into action again as the visitors looked to exploit Asfordby’s lethargy.

Herod, Jolliffe and Kelly held the line in defence with Cook and Gamble linking well in the middle. This allowed McCafferty to bring the ball down and control before releasing Hill for his second.

Harris and Ladjimi looked to stretch the Santana defence after the break with Swann and Hill driving forward.

Gamble fed Hill for his hat-trick, but Santana still pushed forward causing Wade to again save well.

Azhashemi and Saffhill came on with the former setting off down the left wing and teeing up Hill for his fourth.

With Asfordby bossing midfield, Hill sent Ladjimi through. Santana’s keeper saved his first shot and then parried his next attempt, but it was third time lucky as Ladjimi found the bottom corner for 5-2.

McCafferty showed trademark control and sidestep to set off towards the box, and won a free-kick when he was fouled near the box.

McCafferty allowed Hill to take the set piece which bounced just short of the diving keeper and found the net.

With full-time approaching, Santana intercepted a goalkick and calmly slotted past the diving Wade for a deserved consolation.
