Holwell Sports will be hoping for third time lucky after Tuesday’s re-arranged Westerby Cup tie at Quorn fell victim to the cold snap.
The Farley Way playing surface failed a 4pm pitch inspection, and the quarter-final has been provisionally rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24.
Holwell were also out of luck in the league as Saturday’s football programme was also badly hit by snow and ice. Their East Midlands Counties League match at Aylestone Park was called off and has been re-arranged for Saturday, April 18.
Sports will hope for better on Saturday when they travel to Kimberley Miners Welfare (ko 3pm).
The local derby at Welby Road between Holwell Reserves and Asfordby Amateurs in Leics Senior League was also postponed as was Melton Mowbray’s match at Kirby Muxloe Reserves.
