BREAKING: Melton Town v Holwell derby match OFF
Tonight's long-awaited derby between Melton Town and Holwell Sports has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at Digital Deadline Park.
The call was made less than an hour before the scheduled 7.30pm kick-off after a referee’s pitch inspection.
Temperatures had dipped below freezing by 5pm and are set to drop further during this evening.
The County Cup quarter-final was set to be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2010 Melton Charity Cup final.
The match will be re-arranged in the next few days.
