Bottesford FC have taken another big step forward after receiving a significant FA award.
The village club has achieved prestigious FA Charter Standard Community Club status. Launched in 2001, the FA Charter Standard programme is The FA’s accreditation scheme for grassroots clubs and leagues and is given only to an elite number of clubs across the country.
The status was a vital element of the club’s successful funding bid for a new clubhouse, but it has been achieved well ahead of schedule.
The FA Charter Standard is awarded to clubs and leagues rigorously judged to be well-run and sustainable and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and follow the Respect programme.
Bottesford FC chairman Daniel Gribby said: “We are delighted. It’s a wonderful achievement for our club to be recognised in this way and is further evidence of our growing stature.
“It’s a great credit to all concerned that after six months of hard work we’ve been awarded this status around two years ahead of schedule!”
