Asfordby FC Under 10s returned to league action with a tough away trip to Oadby on Sunday.

The visitors were first to get into their stride, and a wonderful through by Thomas set Max on his way, only to round the keeper and hit the post.

It was non-stop pressure from Asfordby which soon produced the first goal when neat play by Theo and Connor allowed Max to slip the ball under the keeper.

When Oadby did threaten, Archie and Tobi were on hand to snuff out the danger.

After more non-stop attack, Asfordby made it 2-0 when a long kick from goalkeeper Rhys was headed on by Max into the path of Connor to smash home from 12 yards.

The third goal soon arrived as great work in defence saw the captain Archie win possession and thread the ball to Max who slotted home for his second.

After the interval Oadby started to get a foothold into the game and only great defence from Tobi and Theo, and good work from the goalkeeper denied Oadby.

Asfordby added a fourth when Thomas found Joe who beat the full-back with ease and played the ball back to Connor who beat the keeper at the far post with a great shot from 15 yards.

It was all-Asfordby now with wave after wave of attacks and the fifth goal only looked a matter of time.

It duly arrived when Thomas broke down the left and slipped the ball to Max whose shot was blocked by the keeper. The rebound fell kindly to Joe who smashed home from 12 yards.

Asfordby carried on attacking and could have had more goals but for some brave goalkeeping from the Oadby stopper.
