Asfordby Amateurs Inclusive FC capped a great promotion-winning season with gold medals at the East Midlands Special Olympics, in Leicester, on Sunday.

The tournament featured two groups of seven teams from Mansfield, Redditch, Leicester and the Midlands.

Asfordby won five of their matches and drew one to finish in top spot from runners-up Mansfield and Riverside in third.

Lone Millin said: “It was a brilliant day with some very competitive football and it was great to see the team step up a gear and play very well after a disappointing tournament the week before.

The lads have achieved great things this season. The only thing left is the final of the Melton Times Sports Awards next week which everyone is looking forward to.”

The team trains at King Edward VII Sport Centre on Tuesdays from 6-7pm and will resume after the summer holidays on July 28.

Players of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend, we start back after summer holiday on July 28th.
