Egerton Park CC name top achievers at awards night

Egerton Park Cricket Club looked back on another season at their annual presentation evening in the pavilion last week.

David Glover, chairman of the Melton club, thanked all captains, junior team managers and committee members for their hard work and commitment during the year.Marie Glover was presented with a bouquet of flowers for all of her hard work in 2016.

Junior team mangers and senior captains reflected on their performances during the season and handed out the awards to the winners.

Among the award winners, Australian all-rounder Zaheer Hussain was named the First XI Player of the Year, while Richard Hussain picked up the Second XI equivalent.

Tom Glover won the Sunday XI Player of the Year award, and the Young Cricketer of the Year award went to Alex Barber.

Sportsman of the Year was Hedley Lovegrove.

U10s Player of the Year: Joe Spencer. U11s Player of the Year: Charlie Haffenden. Most improved young player: Ollie Watchorn. U13s Player of the Year: Anthony Pedlar. U 15s Player of the Year: Jack Simons. U17s Player of the Year: Jacob Bates.
