Salaman Cup ties hit by rain delays

The weather hit the Salaman Cup once again last week with none of the three scheduled ties played.

The Egerton Park v Bottesford quarter-final was put back a second time until tomorrow (Friday) after last Thursday’s rearranged match was washed out.

Tilton and Lowesby could not raise a side for last Friday’s tie and conceded it to Belvoir, while Monday’s Thorpe Arnold v Melton Mowbray clash was rescheduled to next Wednesday to avoid a clash with England’s European Championship tie.

The winners of the Melton-Thorpe match will meet Belvoir in the first semi-final on Friday, July 8, while Oakham will meet Egerton Park or Bottesford in the second semi seven days later.
