Knossington survive wobble to extend unbeaten start against Great Bowden

Knossington maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Sunday with a three-wicket win against visitors Great Bowden.

The Bowden skipper won the toss and surprisingly elected to bat first on a very damp track, but his opening partnership seemed to justify his decision as they amassed an untroubled 50-run partnership.

Knossington captain Greaves turned to Matt Goodwin and Stuart Upton who came on first change and promptly started a collapse which saw Bowden slump from 50-1 to 63 all out in 30 overs.

Goodwin took 3 for 12 in eight overs, while Upton finished with 4 for 3 from five overs. Turner and Renwick were the other wicket-takers.

In reply, Knoss struggled from the off as Renwick went for a duck and Sibson quickly followed for four.

Harris and Kimm steadied the ship, each getting 16 before they both headed for the hutch where Greaves, Upton and Turner swiftly joined them.

It took the cool of Goodwin and Knight to steer them home in the 23rd over.

They will hope to keep the winning streak going on their tour of Dorset next weekend.
