Benjamin Miles hit a half-century for the visitors, while Dan Snaith chipped in with an unbeaten 45 as Tilton posted 193-6 from their 40 overs.

Carington’s Second XI had no answer to Tilton’s attack, led by skipper Stephen Franklin (3 for 18), with only Louis Massarella making inroads with 34 as the home side were bundled out for 80.

The result leaves Tilton seven points behind leaders Queniborough Seconds who received a walkover win against Sproxton.

Elsewhere in Division One, Barkby’s miserly bowlers restricted hosts Bottesford to 107-6 from their 40 overs to wrap up a 54-run win, John Pook (31) having earlier helped United make 161-8.

And Frisby were saved by the rain at home to Empingham, hanging on at 124-9, chasing 191-9, when the gloom returned to abandon the match with just six-and-a-half overs left to bowl.

* In the Premier, Belvoir pulled off a big win over title-chasing Queniborough.

Sam Penford’s half-century, supported by Lewis Dann (34) and Jamie Gilbertson (31), helped the hosts to a good total of 193-8 from their 40 overs.

Queniborough’s reply started badly with three of the top four falling cheaply. And only Asif May added any resistance down the order with an unbeaten 43 as the second-placed side were bowled out for 136 inside 29 overs.

The results helped Belvoir close the gap on the Premier Division’s top two as leaders Houghton-on-the-Hill also suffered their first defeat of the season, at home to Hinckley.
