Thorpe sank to a heavy home defeat in their first match since relegation from the Premier last season.

Hosting Leicester Banks, Alex Renwick (31) and Myles Hickman (28) gave the hosts a solid start, but that was as good as it got as Thorpe were bundled out for 151.

Banks reached their target with 15 overs to spare thanks to match-winning knocks from Vishal (78 not out) and Sanjani (57 not out).

This weekend Syston are away once more at Earl Shilton (12.30pm), while Thorpe travel to Houghton and Thurnby (1pm).
