Having lost the toss, Park were put into bat first and struggled to up the tempo as they were restricted to a total of 192-6 from their 45 overs.

In reply, promotion-chasing Carillon took full control, and reached their target in just 26 overs, for the loss of three wickets.

Park’s five-point haul from only their third defeat of the season dropped them to seventh, 64 points behind second-placed Carillon.

On Saturday they will be looking for maximum points as they return to Melton for a home match with bottom side Barwell.

* There was much better news for Park’s Second XI as a six-wicket haul from Jason Creed saw them demolish Whetstone.

Creed took excellent figures of 6 for 15 to bowl the visitors out for just 40 in 32 overs.

Park reached their target with ease for the loss of just three wickets in 18 overs.
