Everards County League: Egerton Park Seconds let winning positions slide

Despite fielding a strong side, Egerton Park Seconds could only manage a poor losing draw at home to Electricity Sports on Saturday.

Things started well as the visitors were given first bat as the unlucky Rivers and Beeken Junior kept the visitors in check on an uneven track. But it wasn’t until the introduction of Barber (2 for 14) and the ever-reliable Simons (4 for 48) that the wickets started to fall, and at 93-7 Park looked to be firmly in control.

A stand of 82 off the last 12 overs, however, changed the look of the game as Sports posted 175-7.

An opening stand of 55 between Tyler (25) and Simons (34) laid a good base for Park, but sadly no-one else in the batting line-up managed to show any form, leaving Barber and Beeken Junior to hold out for a disappointing draw.

Electricity Sports: 175-7.
