Having won the toss, Croxton elected to bat, and right from the start they went after the Walton bowling attack.

Openers Aylin and Barney Gott put on 69 for the first wicket and then Aylin and Jack Dilloway added 79 for the second wicket.

It was, however, the partnership between Aylin and Jamie Parkman that propelled Croxton to its huge total of 306-3.

The pair put on 126 for the third wicket before Jamie Parkman fell for 36.

But it was Aylin who was the star of the innings, scoring his first century before progressing on to achieve the club’s first double-hundred, finishing unbeaten on 205.

In reply, the visitors began well, mainly thanks to a knock of 128 from Ross, well supported by Mayes (32) and Boulter (26).

But after Ross fell, the innings capitulated to 208 all out, Chris Jeary finishing with 2 for 5 and Leon Aylin 6 for 31.
