Cricket: Egerton Park and Thorpe Arnold begin pre-season training

With the start of the new cricket season under two months away, two of our clubs begin their preparations this week.

Thorpe Arnold Cricket Club’s winter nets start tonight (Thursday) at Long Field Academy, in Melton.

The under 13s and under 11s hardball sessions take place from 5.45pm to 6.45pm followed by the under 17s and seniors from 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

New players are welcome. Thorpe play their Saturday cricket in Division Two and Division Five East of the county league, as well as Sundays in the Grantham and Melton Association, and midweek cricket in the Burrough and Belvoir Leagues.

Most Popular

The junior sides play in their relevant age groups in the Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Cricket League.

* Egerton Park Cricket Club, meanwhile, begin their winter nets tomorrow (Friday), also at Long Field.

Junior nets are from 6pm to 7pm, with senior cricketers from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Players old and new are welcome.
