County League cricket: Egerton Park Seconds skittle Cosby

Egerton Park Second XI moved within 20 points of the top spot in Division Seven East with an easy win at a poor Cosby side.

The day started with a scare when opening batsman Tyler failed a fitness test, but Park need not have worried.

Putting the visitors in to bat, wickets fell at regular intervals with Beeken, Dover-Jaques, Creed, Barber and Jeary all sharing the wickets as Cosby were skittled for 75, the only surprise being that Simons was again wicket-less.

But he made up for it by putting on 69 with Harris to secure the points after skipper Mold had fallen cheaply.

Park Seconds comfortably remained in fourth, but the bigger challenge will come on Saturday at second-placed Blaby Town.
