Schools pitted themselves against each other in a variety of track and field events to win the title of 2015 Melton and Belvoir Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics champions.
Sportshall athletics is an indoor form of track and field for young athletes during the cold and dark winter months.
Throughout the afternoon, held at John Ferneley College, individuals competed against each other in an attempt to accumulate points towards their overall team score.
The field events included the speed bounce, standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump and chest push, while the track events were a one and two-lap relays, six-lap paarlauf (pair running) and an obstacle relay.
The event was overseen by 11 leaders from John Ferneley.
Brownlow School claimed the gold medal, pushing Stathern into silver, and Ab Kettleby completed the podium positions by taking the bronze.
The John Ferneley Leadership Academy awarded Old Dalby with the Spirit of the Games trophy for their great determination throughout the competition.
Brownlow now go on to represent Melton and Belvoir at the School Games Super Series Final at Loughborough University on Thursday, December 3 from 10am to 12.30pm.
Other schools to participate were St Francis, Great Dalby, Sherard, St Mary’s and Asfordby Hill.
