Ben Robinson, Molly Marris and Maxwell Mullins are gearing up for a 12-day tour of the island, representing Lincolnshire CCC age group sides.

They depart on Friday, March 31 for what should be a memorable tour, as they prepare to play in the heat and humidity of Sri Lanka with average daytime temperatures approaching 30 degrees.

Pace bowler Ben (14), who trialled successfully this winter, said “It’s amazing to be accepted into the Lincolnshire set-up and get this opportunity to go on such a great tour.

All-rounder Molly (15) had a great summer with the ball in 2016 and was the ladies’ under 15s bowler of the season for Belvoir.

“I can’t wait to get there and see Sri Lanka and enjoy the tour,” she said.

Maxwell was also in form was leading wicket-taker for Belvoir’s under 14s squad last year with his slow left-arm bowling.

“I was fortunate enough to tour there last March with Stamford School,” the 15-year-old said. “We had some decent matches, but the best things were the people and the beauty of the island.”

The county squad is also appealing to cricketers to donate any unwanted cricket equipment and clothing which will travel with the players and be donated to a local cricket charity.
