Barton wins Stilton Stumble for second time

Stilton Strider Jason Barton won the Stilton Stumble for the season time in three years with a dominant display of running.

In heavy rain, just over 300 took on Sunday’s 10k race which started and finished in Cropwell Bishop, via Colston Bassett.

Barton clocked 35min 25secs to take the win, with clubmate Luke Eggleston not far behind in fourth place in another personal best time of 38.04.

Next back for the Melton club was third-placed veteran Darren Glover in seventh in 38.54 followed by Ben Pickard in a pb of 44.01.

First Striders lady back was Greeba Heard in a personal best of 47.19 with David Hall next in 51.14.

Kathy Walsh, in her first race for the club, recorded a pb of 52.45, followed by Vanessa Walker (55.24), Laura Pickard (55.38), and Alexandra Fairhurst in a PB 60.35.

The sole Strider taking on the 24k distance was Nick Pryke who finished 46th in 2hr 6min 33secs.
