Assassins get ready for big club event with warm-up bouts

Members of Melton Assassins continued their preparations for their Muay Thai Boxing club finals with a series of warm-up bouts.

The team travelled to Red Kite Muay Thai Gym in Preston, where Lewis Kelly was first up.

He used his skills well against a local fighter, winning all three rounds.

Shaydon Burt (10) took on an aggressive boy from Salford.

The Melton lad lost the first round but fought back and finished strongly.

Nine-year-old Lexie Peters dominated all three rounds of her first ever bout. It was a simialr story when Naomi Blankley (12) took to the ring.

Rayhan Asif (7) performed well in two bouts, controlling them with good knees.

One of the stand-out contests involved three-year-old Jase Perls, who enjoyed his ‘play bout’ and showed he had learned techniques.

Samantha Culley had a tough fight against a girl who was heavier than her but she still performed impressively.

There were debut bouts for Ava Iaight (7) and Taylor Bishop (9) and both enjoyed the experience.

Bill Hammond (11) and Saxon Nugent (12), who are both experienced fighters, used their skills to overcome very aggressive opponents.

Last in the ring was Nathan Donovan (30), who showed how much he had improved, with great balance and skill.

Thai Barlow fights for a Roar Combat World Title in Watford onOctober 22.

George ‘Double G’ Griffiths is on the undercard.
