Pupils at Asfordby Captains Close School have been inspired by some expert coaching in recent weeks.
Cricketers from the England squad, including Tammy Beaumont, have been working with the school to persuade youngsters to take up the game.
The visits were part of the national Chance to Shine initiative which also saw other Melton and Rutland cricket coaches coem into the school.
Last month the school joined the other schools from the Melton Lynx Academy Group to take part in a gymnastic development day festival at the former King Edward VII School.
The children practised floor and body management routines, and practised vault techniques, supported by Nottinghamshire gymnastics coaches who have worked with European gold medallist Becky Downie.
Next month Captains Close pupils will work with Royal Shakespeare Company movement coaches to create an installation piece as part of The Curve Theatre/RSC Learning Partnership’s contribution to the Richard III reinterrment.
