Wilson runs away with Melton GC medal

SUNDAY, 11am: Superb scores were returned when Melton Golf Club held its men's midweek medal.
Lee Wilson won with net 63, eight shots clear of Nigel Genes and his gross 67 was also the day's best gross score. Nigel was second on countback from Mark Muggleton and Bill Robson.

Twos sweep: Franco Vignati, Ian Townsend, Lee Wilson.

*James
Keyworth and Neil Eaves won the men's betterball stableford with 45 points, one ahead of Alan Hodgkinson and Brian Haines, and Richard Haines and Eugene Murphy were third with 43. Twos sweep: Richard Haines, Bill Hurrell, John Webb.

*The ladies played for the LGU pendant and September Medal.
Margaret Hoskins won the Pendant with net 72 on countback from Fay Hutton.

Fay also won the silver division medal from Kathie Finn who finished two shots adrift.

Lady Captain Drina Terzza (net 77) won bronze division one from Jean Moulds (78), while Margaret Hoskins (net 72) took division two from Sheila Rowson (75).

*The ladies hosted Park Hill in a friendly and halved the match. Melton's two winning teams were Chris Cook and Janet Bentley and Jean Moulds with Jenny Platts.

*The Mixed team lost out at Beedles Lake, picking up just two halves through Keith Goodacre and Fay Hutton, and Malcolm Bryson and Drina Terzza.

*The seniors won their last home match against Park Hill 5½ to 2½ and ended their season with a 7-1 win at Stanton-on-the-Wolds.

*Stoke Rochford GC Seniors suffered their heaviest home defeat of the season against Torksey.
