TUESDAY, 9am: The up and down campaign of Welby Lane United continued on Saturday as they slipped to a disappointing defeat.
The Melton side have enjoyed an equal share of commanding wins and resounding defeats in Leicester District League Premier and made it four wins without a win at Burbage Old Boys.

The hosts began the day second-bottom and with only one win to their name and held Welby Lane to 1-1 at half-time, the visitors on the scoresheet through John Love.

And despite a second Love strike after the break, the hosts took the points with second half goals from Shaun Robinson and Joe Brimsfield.

Welby Lane United Reserves also would have been disappointed not to chalk up a victory as they were held to a goalless draw at Egerton Park on Saturday.

The point against mid-table St Patrick's was still good enough to keep Welby Lane at the top of the Reserves Premier Division.

In a tight top half of the table, Glenfield are just a point behind, while Syston's FC Kirkland Reserves are just three points off top spot in fourth, but with two games in hand on the rest of the challengers.
