FRIDAY, 11am: With the game ending in a blizzard, league leaders Waltham Under 16s lost their 100 per cent home league record.

WALTHAM JUNIORS 2 CATERPILLAR JUNIORS 2
Waltham almost went behind within minutes, but Alex Jones made an excellent full-stretch save. The hosts settled and James Bowen put them ahead with a fine run and finish.
Waltham stretched their lead when Bowen's excellent corner was met beyond the far post by Sam Carter's bullet header back across the goal for John Mason to volley in. Caterpillar pulled back a deserved goal just before half-time.
Caterpillar dominated the second half with 10 men in an ill tempered half. Man-of-the-match Alex Cragg and Mason dominated central defence, but Cragg was forced off with a hamstring injury.
With minutes left Hutton outpaced the defence, but slipped when one-on-one. Immediately Caterpillar attacked and as Waltham's defence hesitated, Caterpillar deservedly equalised.
Waltham: A. Jones, B. Freer, J. Mason, A. Cragg, C. Bibby, L. Potts, O. Heaver, C. MacGregor (c), S. Carter, J. Bowen, A. Hutton. Subs: E. Bowley, J. Gaskin.

MELTON FOXES 3 IBSTOCK 0
AN ultimately comfortable win against a skilful side.
Ibstock dominated early on, but Foxes got back in the game and from Power's strong run and precise pass, Booth fired them ahead. Only two terrific point-blank saves by Picker kept Foxes ahead at the break.
Austin's good run and pass set up Booth's second, a strike from the edge of the area, before Picker again rescued Foxes. Woodall's defensive and creative midfield efforts contained Ibstock and Pope's deft chip clinched the points.
Foxes: J. Picker, E. Miller, J. Hyman, S. Gackowski, T. Jones, J. Sharples, C. Allen, J. Smith, A. Austin, G. Woodall, W. Booth, C. Power, O. Anderson, T. Pope.

THURMASTON MAGPIES 3 ASFORDBY AMATEURS 6
AMATEURS had a score to settle and Young soon went about it with two fine goals.
Keeper Naylor and defenders Lambert, Lennon, Power and Wright were strong and kept Thurmaston's attack out. Good support from Upton and Hall in midfield set up Young's hat-trick strike before half-time.
Thurmaston attacked hard during the second half and were rewarded with two sloppy goals. Asfordby woke up, Gillespie and Reed setting up Young and Martin to take Amateurs clear again at 5-2.
Thurmaston scored again, but Young had the final say with his 10th goal in two games late on.
Amateurs: C. Naylor, P. Lambert, C. Lennon, J. Powers, J. Wright, M. Reed, C. Hall, J. Upton, S. Gillespie, R. Martin, R. Young (c), Z. Warrington, J. Brown, K. Cubbit.

MOWBRAY RANGERS 3 DUNTON AND BROUGHTON 2
MOWBRAY panicked in the first half, and unable to string passes together fell 2-0 behind.
Jack Laughton replaced Josh Ketteringham in defence shortly before half-time.
After a vigorous half-time team talk Mowbray came out fired up and scored within two minutes, Ed Fryer firign past the keeper.
Man-of-the-match Luke Darlington never gave up battling, as did the back four, Adams, Perfect, Laughton and Jones. Luke Platkiw knocked home Fryer's cross to equalise and Rangers were on the up and looking much better.
They were at last creating chances, but it took Laughton's long shot to give Mowbray a deserved winner.

WIGSTON UNITED 2 MELTON FOXES 2
FOXES' first away game in three months was a scrappy affair as they looked for their first win since mid-November.
Wigston made the early running, but Foxes nearly took a 10th-minute lead through Harry Pryor. Wigston scored straight from a corner and, apart from Thomas Bendle's header, Foxes were all over the place.
Wigston had lots of chances before making it 2-0. Just before half-time Jack Dolby's free-kick found Howlin for 2-1 after good play by Graham Rose and John Pears.
A much better second half saw Pears force a good save before skipper Hedley Lovegrove's turn and shot equalised.
Right-back Ash Hill worked hard as did Lovegrove, Rose and Squires-Nugent limiting Wigston to one effort on goal saved by Ricky Newton. Dolby and Bendle went close late on.
Foxes: R. Newton, A. Hill, J. Dolby, T. Bendle, L. Wardle, H. Pryor, J. Duce, H. Lovegrove (c), M. Howlin, T. Czuchai, J. Pears, G. Rose, A. Squires-Nugent.

GILMORTON JUNIORS 3 ASFORDBY AMATEURS 0
ON paper Asfordby should have won, but Gilmorton gave them a lesson in simple passing football.
Asfordby dominated the second half and camped in Gilmorton's half, but could not beat Gilmorton's defence and keeper.
Many players were lacklustre as Gilmorton moved 3-0 ahead by half-time despite missing a penalty. Michael Odiam worked well in the first half and went close a few times.
Ross Dunlop and Ben Weston shot wide, the latter from Jordan Blythe's excellent cross. Stand-in keeper Liam Cooley made two good saves after the break, but Asfordby slipped to fourth.
Amateurs: J. Blythe, J. Carvell, L. Cooley, R. Dunlop, C. Hebb, M. Irish, S. Lyons, L. Miles, M. Noble, M. Odiam, J. Ring, L. Sharpley, B. Weston.
BARWELL 1 ASFORDBY AMATEURS 3
ASFORDBY began well, needing a win to keep them in the title hunt.
Defender Rumney played in Thorpe who ran on to get the first. Barwell battled back and equalised after a surging run.
Asfordby dug in deep after half-time and played some excellent football. Brown's 20-yard blast soon found the back of the net.
The defence stepped up a gear, with man-of-the-match Shaun Wright solid throughout, and keeper Hall was busy. Asfordby had a few near misses with the ball just trickling up to the line or just past the post, before Thorpe broke clear, rounded the keeper for the killer goal.
Amateurs: A. Hall, K. Rumney, E. Birch, S. Wright, S. Bullimore, E. Harrison (c), A. Brown, B. Fetzko, H. Barnes, D. Sharpley, S. Thorpe, P. Thornton, N. Ellinas, J. Wright.
Under 14s Girls' League Cup Round One
MOWBRAY RANGERS 6 MEASHAM WELFARE 3
A BRILLIANT game began with Rangers going ahead when defender Christie Maughan's long ball found Lauren Smith to control and score.
A Measham corner led to an own goal before sub Sophie Rankin scored from Beth Dexter's corner at the back post.
Smith's pass into the area allowed Hannah Burrows to score just before half-time.
Defenders Jessica Baker, Amy Green and Shannon Coupland could not prevent a great Measham goal followed soon after by the equaliser.
Burrows and Rankin swapped positions and player-of-the-match Jade Heeley set up Hannah Burgon for Rangers' fourth.
Smith scored a fine solo goal and Dexter scored from 20 yards.
