THURSDAY 1PM: Champion strongman Jason Talbot is the driving force behind the 8th Melton Mowbray Strongest Man competition on Saturday.
The event is being held in Play Close at 12.30pm and will involve about 15 competitors from across the county, ranging in weight from 75kg to 145kg.

Events are similar to those currently shown on Britain's Strongest Man on Channel 5, including 220kg deadlift, overhead log press ranging from 80kg to 110kg, axe hold of 13kg each and a medley comprising 110kg farmers' walk followed by atlas stones of 95kg and 115kg.
