SUNDAY, 3pm: weather and lots of enthusiastic skydivers made a nine-day skydivers' festival at Langar Airfield an overwhelming success.
The Langar Boogie attracted skydivers from across the country, from professional skydivers to student and tandem jumpers.

More than 3,000 jumps took place, the highlight a 36-person formation skydive. Many skydivers also practised their freeflying skills, solo skydiving using a range of artistic positions from diving head first to the sitting position.

To celebrate the Boogie, the centre brought in an additional plane to cope, the Skyvan.

Drop zone chief instructor Dave Hickling said: "We always have a great time during Boogie weeks and the combination of great weather and some fantastic jumps made it all the better."

The next Langar Boogie takes place from September 13 to 21 and spectators are welcome.

lAnyone interested in skydiving, whether through a tandem jump or as a solo student, should visit the Langar Airfield website at www.bpslangar.co.uk or call (01949) 860878.
