WEDNESDAY, 4pm: Melton RFC old boy and Scotland international Rory Lamont makes his long-awaited return from injury for Sale Sharks tonight.
Lamont will play his first game in six months when Guinness Premiership outfit Sale take on French side Perpignan in the pre-season Challenge Vaquerin competition.
The Scotland wing was set for a big season after being named Scotland International player of the Year having ended last year's World Cup as his nation's top try scorer.
But he was injured in the Calcutta Cup match against England in a collision with Iain Balshaw, missing the rest of the Six Nations and the domestic season.
Sale's director of rugby Philippe Saint Andre said: "Rory has worked with Steve Walsh and the conditioning team on his rehab.
"He also had a minor knee operation to clean up the joint and he is really looking forward to the new season."
