Rutland X on target to clinch darts league runners-up spot

SATURDAY, 4pm: Rutland X, after some indifferent recent form, turned on the style in their last Melton Men's Darts League game of the season.
They secured runners-up spot in Division One after beating Mash Tub A 9-2, Dave Watkins, Martin Armitage, Carl Perkins, Derek Symonds and Paul Jaggard on form.

Jim Cole, Nigel Long and Sean Wydra inspired Black Swan Bird Flu's 7-4 win at Noel's GB
H. Harboro Lites finished third as Jeff Howitt, Paul Wood, Ian Prackauskas and Dave Pattinson beat Mash Tub D 7-4.

Champions Black Swan Fossils edged Swan X 6-5, Kevin Gibson, Brian Barrow and Jim Crighton on song.

Kenny Baker, J. Becall, Derek Perks and Bill Ashley helped Legion 69ers defeat Harboro P 6-5, while Miles Hewitt, Pete Adams, Colin Mousley and Les Orridge continued WMC M's revival, beating Half Moon A 9-2. Moon lost again, 7-4 to Mash Tub D, after wins for Kevin Baker, Matt Fotheringham, Trev Adams and A. Fotheringham.

Division Two rivals Genny B Tossers and Fox Z took the runners-up race to the wire. Genny B won 9-2 at Fox A through Dan Davies, Paul Miller, Ben Redwood and Daz Mackie, while Fox Z outdid Rutland Z 8-3, John Mattox, Ron Webster, Steve Candy and Tam Nicol starring.

They ended level on points, wins and legs, but Fox Z took second after winning both their league fixtures.

Boat C look good for next season, Jason Huckerby, James Paynter, Jonny DR, Robin Gregory, Nigel Gunter and Matt Underwood inspiring a 9-2 hiding of Noel's E.

Bobby Alexander, Dan Timbrell and Simon Woods guided champions Rutland MPs to a 7-4 win against Boat Old Tubs, and Rob Taft, Roy H and Kev Hellyer helped Welby Stellamen edge Black Swan MGB 6-5.

Keith Tomblin, Dave Hebb, Ian Wakefield, Tim and Ron Graham cemented Boat P's Premier title, beating Black Swan OBAFB 8-3. Runners-up Welby C also won, Steve Rack, Chris James, Andy, John and Benny Love edging Half Moon B 7-4.

Noel's X were third, Phil James, Guy Rayson, John Beedie, Baz and Mark Hyde firing an 8-3 win at Welby XV.

Crown T's Richard Hammond, Alan Kearney, Lee Brown and Richard Randall sank Boat SS 7-4, and Wayne Kirk, Ken Tottey and Paul Stevenson struck as Mash Tub Z stunned Noel's D 7-4.

*Summer Cup and Skues Cup entry forms must be submitted with registration fee to the Grapes or Generous Briton by May 12.
