THURSDAY, 4pm: Mowbray Rangers hosted their first Under 12s International Football Festival and ended the weekend as winners.
Rangers welcomed the first visit of two teams from French club Etoile. Alongside teams from Waltham, Mountsorrel Juniors, Loughborough Dynamo and Asfordby Amateurs they all produced a high standard of football in extreme heat.

On Saturday the teams competed in two groups of four with the matches on Sunday deciding where they would finish the festival out of the eight teams.

On an even warmer Sunday the football was excellent and played in a very sporting way.

The final was contested between Mowbray Rangers Reds and Loughborough Dynamo with Rangers coming out the eventual winners.

At the presentation all teams participating were rewarded with the presentation of a trophy for their finishing position.

Final positions: 1 Mowbray Rangers Reds, 2 Loughborough Dynamo, 3 Mountsorrel Juniors, 4 Etoile A, 5 Waltham Eagles, 6 Mowbray Whites, 7 Etoile B, 8 Asfordby Amateurs.

Rangers wish to thank all volunteers, sponsors, parents and officials who made this inaugural international football festival a tremendous success.
