With Ryan Franklin and young Will Keightley making their debuts, Holwell dominated the first half and could have gone ahead inside five minutes when Rob Aldridge's fine pass put Scott Mooney through but his half-hit shot rebounded off keeper Wheater-Lowe's legs for a corner.
The opening goal soon arrived when Aldridge's free kick was flicked on by Mooney, and Carder, unable to get out of the way, headed into his own net. Holwell continued to dominate and missed two chances as half-time approached.
A blocked clearance looped back over the top to put Mooney away, but his attempted chip lacked height and rebounded off the keeper's chest. And from Fred Stannard's corner, Dave Saddington's firm near post header looked a goal all the way until Moore headed off the line.
Dunkirk's best effort came in injury time when Blanchard curled a great shot past keeper Rich Gordon which rebounded off the bar to Westcarr whose close-range shot was brilliantly parried by Gordon.
Roles were reversed in the second half as the hosts sprang into life. And they soon levelled as Westcarr neatly controlled a cross and turned inside Saddington before shooting home.
Holwell came under the cosh for the next 25 minutes, but defended doggedly, with Gordon making three excellent saves.
The visitors struggled to create anything up front until, with five minutes left, manager Simon Daws replaced Franklin with Dave Gordon, Aldridge dropping into the back four.
Gordon and Niall Prenderville soon linked up cleverly to put Keightley away down the left, who outpaced his marker but saw his goalbound cross-shot brilliantly turned away by Wheater-Lowe.
Holwell: R. Gordon, R. Franklin (D. Gordon 85), R. Pitman, A. Snelgrove, D. Saddington ©, A. Teare, W. Keightley, S. Mooney, F. Stannard, R. Aldridge.

BARROW TOWN 3 HOLWELL SPORTS 0
HOLWELL fielded the same team on Monday at Riverside Park and were well beaten by a much livelier and more committed side.
A goal down inside two minutes when Ash Warner was left too much room inside the box, the visitors never recovered.
After 20 minutes it became 2-0 when Sherlock held off a tackle down and planted the ball past the helpless Rich Gordon. Barrow bossed the rest of the half, but failed to add to their tally.
Things improved a little in the second half, Will Keightley seeing a lot of the ball down the right. But Holwell still struggled to threaten and had Gordon to thank midway through when he superbly dived to tip Sherlock's goalbound shot on to the post.
But the keeper could do little to stop Quincy adding a third in stoppage time. Warner laid the ball back to him and his left-foot shot went in off the far post.
