TUESDAY, 11.30am: Both Melton Sunday League's County Cup semi-finalists had very differing form going into Sunday's cup clashes.
Melton and District Sunday League
Dead Rabbits were thrashed by league leaders Melton Rovers 12-1 with four goals from Hardy and braces from Baines, Randall and Foster. Matt Catton and Carmichael were the other scorers.
Real Ale Madrid went back to second place with an impressive 4-2 win over Barkestone-le-Vale thanks to a storming first half display to lead 4-0 at half-time. BLV came alive in the second half with two goals.
Half Moon spent 83 minutes of their match against FC Becksalona playing crossbar challenge.
They had at least 12 chances to take the lead before eventually Shaun Wydra. After spending so long defending, the inevitable collapse came with Lewis Barnard scoring and two goals from Joe Aldridge.
The Grange and Lokomotive fought out a five-goal thriller at Cottesmore with The Grange emerging winners 3-2.
Finally, Cutting Room had to come from one-down after Burrows had put Gimbles in the lead. Hazeldine and an unfortunate own goal sealed the win for the 2008 champions which keeps them in the title hunt.
