On Saturday, they faced very tough competition in a Nuneaton and Bedworth League gala at Nuneaton.
Melton secured one race win in the 12-year-old boys' 50m freestyle through Tommy Smith who clocked a new personal best in the process.
Melton's
team were made up of many new faces and they rose to the challenge with determination, but were only able to finish in last place.
On Sunday, they moved on to the first round of the Reliant League which they have dominated for several years. Melton were winning from the first event and took 26 first places from the 43 races.
Notable performances came from Isabel Harrison, Jacob Mousley, Harry Williamson, Callum Brook and Emma Pevers with two wins apiece, and there were solo wins for Jack Plowman, Charlotte Hunn, Connor Boylan, Chelsea Partridge, Molly Hey and Jack Close.
There were also Melton team wins in the girls' 9yrs freestyle relay, the boys' 12yrs freestyle and medley relays and girls and boys medley and freestyle relays at the 11yrs age group.
New nine-year-old swimmers made their debuts and helped the team win by 37 points from joint runners-up Hinckley and Coalville.
The B team also contributed some personal best times to stake their claim for selection.
* Six Diddy team members competed in a LASA Mini Grand Prix. Isabel Harrison, Hannah Smith, Jack Close, Josh Tapsell and Nathan Burton all returned personal best times in the 20m freestyle and 100m individual medley.
