WEDNESDAY, 11.30am: Melton visited top-of-the-table Cosby and were soon in trouble when asked to bat.

Cosby won by 5 wkts

With wickets falling regularly, only Baz Cousins with a dogged 30 in the middle order kept the innings together and even he could not help Melton beyond a total of 118.

With rain threatening, Cosby set off at a brisk rate until Melton broke through giving the hosts a few anxious moments before reaching the target for the loss of five wickets.

Mick Whitfield and Alan Dawson picked up two wickets apiece for their efforts.
