MONDAY, 10.15am: North Leics League Premier Division leaders Melton Mowbray BS brought their unbeaten form into 2009 with a 2-0 victory at Sutton Bonington on Saturday.
Matt Harby and Simon Snow scored the Melton goals as the title challengers extended their lead at the top to four points with second-placed Sileby Saints' match at Whitwick postponed.

Loughborough FC climbed in to second spot with a 5-1 win at home to local rivals Loughborough Town.

Melton are also going well in the cup and this Saturday face a Leics FA Saturday Junior Cup quarter-final tie at Castle Donington Town.

In Division One, Asfordby Village moved up to fifth after beating ATI Garryson 5-2 at home. Lee Spridgeons (2), Wayne Harris, Paul Huckerby and Martin Blaza struck for Asfordby.

In Division Four, Melton Mowbray BS Reserves also moved up to fifth and stayed in touch with the top three after edging a five-goal thriller.

Goals from Robbie Preira, Rich Dolby and Luke Smith sealed a 3-2 win at home to Birstall Old Boys Reserves.

Mid-table Long Clawson made a disappointing start to the new year as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Sileby Victoria Reserves.

Ian Wright did the damage with a hat-trick for Sileby who moved up a place out of the bottom two.
