TUESDAY, 9.30am: Young cricketers James Taylor and Sam Cliff starred with bat and ball to help Leicestershire to a thrilling Pro40 League win on Sunday.
England Under 19s batsman Taylor, from Burrough-on-the-Hill, came in at number seven for the Foxes against Derbyshire with the hosts reeling on 120 for 6.

Taylor, who had been struggling for form in recent weeks for England and Leicestershire's County Championship side, scored an impressive unbeaten 43 off 42 balls.

His innings included two fours and two sixes featuring reverse sweeps and powerful leg strokes to help guide Leicestershire to a competitive 183 for 8 from their 40 overs.

In reply, 20-year-old Cliff, from Bottesford, destroyed Derbyshire's top order, taking 3 for 16 in an impressive opening spell to reduce the visitors to 10 for 3.

He clean bowled opener Greg Smith and Rikki Clarke and had West Indian international Wavell Hinds caught by Garnett Kruger at mid-on.

As Derbyshire rebuilt their innings, Cliff returned to the attack to have Graham Wagg caught behind with his first ball and finish with figures of 4 for 26 from eight overs. The Foxes sneaked home by six runs.
