Huge win for Crown in Melton Pool League race

SATURDAY, 9am: There were some big scorelines in Melton Summer Pool League Division Five last week.
The Crown Asylum Seekers stormed into contention after an 8-1 thumping of Swanning Along, while Eaton Flyers maintained their advantage with another 8-1 victory against Vikki's Fox.

Not to be outdone the Granby won the battle of the rejects with Adam Thurlby starring in another 8-1 result against the Rutland, and Andrew Thorpe's treble steered the Legionnaires past Rods Soldiers 6-3.

If Carlsberg did Pool Teams have withdrawn from the league and all the points concerning them have been wiped off.

*In Division One, Duke A returned to winning ways with Mark Simpson including the deciding frame winner in his treble to beat Fubar 5-4.

Ben Manship was another last frame hero as the Fulderiks edged out Down the Tree 5-4, and Duke Outsiders also won 5-4 against Court by the Fuzz despite Lee Smith's best efforts.

Steve Partridge led Noel's BBs to a 7-2 win over Red Hot Chilli Potters.

*At the top of Division Two, Jonny Onions' hat-trick helped Alpha Cue beat Crazy Gang 7-2, and Eaton YM also enjoyed a 7-2 result at the Swanderers.

Lee Hall and Adam Wyles both bagged trebles for Boys and their Toys as they beat Gang Crazy 7-2, and Martin McQuade starred as Waltham Masters beat Timmy's Stick 6-3. Dave Enright and Steve Moore ensured the Workerbees overcame the Welby 5-4.

*In Division Three it was 5-4 results all the way with Hadley starring for GB 69ers as they beat Young Guns.

Les Durrance won the decider for Legion Flyers against the Con Merchants, and Scott Corbett's treble ensured You've Been Conned saw off Phoenix Knights.

We 'R' Out to Get Ya finally broke their duck as James Barradell won the decider against Sonia's Sharks, and Alan Davies also held his nerve in the final frame for the Lamb and Flag against Burton St Preachers.

*Oliver's Army went joint top of Division Four after Dave O'Gorman won all three to help beat Half Cut 7-2.

Joining them at the top were MSC B with Simon Crossland's eight-baller helping down Ingall's Idiots 6-3.

Shane Moore and Steph Kirk both won two frames for Crown Immigration Control as they beat Royale Joke 6-3, and Two Out of Three fought back from 4-0 down to beat Royale Poke, Mike Thorpe completing the comeback.
