FRIDAY, 3pm: While there was no home victories, the Asfordby Amateurs JYFC Annual Summer Tournament was resounding success.
An enormous field of 128 teams entered with competitions at every age group from under 6s and 7s to under 14s.
Saturday saw the turn of the even-numbered age groups and Sunday the uneven-numbered ages took to the field at Hoby Road.
Teams flocked from all over Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire with the most local winners coming in the under 9s and under 12s categories by Syston Arrows and Syston Town Reds respectively.
Other winners were - Under 6/7s: Studs JFC; Under 8s: Oadby Owls Snowy; Under 10s: Woodgate 80; Under 11s: Thurmaston Magpies Cyclone; Under 13s: Aylestone Park Reggae Boys; Under 14s: Quorn Reds.
Asfordby Amateurs JYFC secretary Karen Davidson said: "We have received a lot of positive feedback from managers, players, parents and referees about how smoothly the day ran. The weekend went really well."
